Privacy Policy

How we handle your information. In short: your mail is yours, and we don't sell it or scan it for ads.

This policy is a starting template for the 983 Mail service. Have it reviewed by legal counsel and adapted to your jurisdiction before you rely on it.

Effective date: January 1, 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect the account details you give us (name, domain, mailbox address, and billing information) and the operational data needed to run the service, such as login times, IP addresses, and delivery logs. We store the contents of your mailboxes so we can deliver and display them to you.

2. How we use it

  • To provide, secure, and maintain your email service
  • To detect spam, phishing, malware, and abuse
  • To bill you and provide support
  • To send essential service notices

We do not scan the content of your mail to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal data.

3. Sharing

We share data only with the subprocessors that help us operate (for example, infrastructure and payment providers), when required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our users. A current list of subprocessors is available in our Data Processing Addendum.

4. Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. After you close an account, mailbox contents are deleted within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain certain records.

5. Security

We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and continuous monitoring. See our security practices summarized on the homepage.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights.

7. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure the service. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Changes

We'll post any changes to this policy on this page and, for material changes, notify you by email.
